1. What clothing should I wear to my class?

What we recommend for your first lesson:

  • Girls - We suggest a similar outfit that you would wear to the gym, tights (3/4 or full length) and a
               tee-shirt or singlet.
  • Guys - We suggest either 3/4 pants or tracksuit pants and a tee-shirt or singlet.

What we don't recommend for your first lesson:
Jeans, Jewellery, Loose fitting clothing.

If this is your first Flying Trapeze Class, the first trick you will learn is a ‘Knee Hang’. This trick requires you to hang off the trapeze bar from the back of your knees; some people may find that the trapeze bar can irritate the skin behind the knee, so best to wear pants that covers this area.

2. What does "Peak" and "Off Peak" mean?

At Sydney Trapeze School there are more popular class times "Peak" and less popular class times "Off Peak".
The "Peak" and "Off Peak" times are as follows:

Indoor Peak
Tuesday - Thursday 7:00pm till 9:00pm, Saturday 10:00am till 5:00pm and Sunday All Day.

Indoor Off Peak
Tuesday - Thursday 10:00am till 7:00pm, Friday All Day and Saturday 5:00pm till 7:00pm.

Outdoor Peak
Tuesday - Friday 6:00pm till 8:00pm, Saturday All Day and Sunday All Day.

Outdoor Off Peak
Monday All Day, Tuesday - Friday 10:15am till 5:45pm.

3. Are there any weight or height restrictions for flying trapeze?

No.

There are no weight or height restrictions for flying trapeze, at Sydney Trapeze School we cater to all shapes and sizes.

4. How old do I have to be to do flying trapeze?

Sydney Trapeze School will allow kids as young as 4 years to use the flying trapeze. However the recommended age for flying trapeze is 11 years and above.

5. How early should I arrive?

If you have never been to Sydney Trapeze School before you will be required to sign an "Acknowledgement Release and Assumption of Risk Form", this usually takes about 5 – 10 minutes.

We recommend that you arrive to your scheduled class at least 15 minutes early to sign in and complete this paperwork.

Our classes start on the scheduled times, if you are late the class is not extended, all classes are 2 hours in duration from the scheduled start time.

6. How does Sydney Trapeze School’s cancellation/rescheduling/refund policy work?

Sydney Trapeze School has 3 different types of Cancellation/Rescheduling policies for our Flying Trapeze classes, they are defined below:

1 - Reschedule/Early Cancel
This is the only form of cancellation where the student/students will not lose his or her payment/class pass/gift certificate voucher.

At Sydney Trapeze School we define a "Reschedule/Early Cancel" as the following:

   At least 24 hours notice prior to the scheduled class start time that was given by the student/students either
   by phone, answering machine message or e-mail.


2 - Late Cancel
This form of cancellation results in the loss of payment/class pass/gift certificate voucher of the student/students.

At Sydney Trapeze School we define a "Late Cancel" as the following:

   Less than 24 hours notice was given prior to the scheduled class start time by the student/students either
   by phone, answering machine message or e-mail.


3 - No Show
This form of cancellation results in the loss of payment/class pass/gift certificate voucher of the student/students.

At Sydney Trapeze School we define a "No Show" as the following:

   Not attending the scheduled class the student/students have booked into.


NOTE for students falling into the category of "Late Cancel" or "No Show": Please understand that Sydney Trapeze School will have been holding your spot(s) in the class for you from the time of booking. Leaving us with less than 24 hours notice does not provide us enough time to re-book another student(s) to replace your class spot(s) and we
lose out.

7. How do I make a booking?

There are 2 methods of booking in for Flying Trapeze classes at Sydney Trapeze School.

1 – Online Bookings at www.sydneytrapezeschool.com.au

   a. Go to the Sydney Trapeze School "Home Page" and "Sign Up / Register"
   b. Fill out the Registration form
   c. Click on the "Class Schedules" menu item
   d. Chose an appropriate class on the "Schedule" and click the "Book Now" button on your chosen class
   e. Follow the prompts and enter Credit Card Details
   f. Click "Submit"
   g. You will receive a confirmation e-mail to the address you provided during registration.

2 – Phone Bookings

   a. Call Sydney Trapeze School on 9557 9668
   b. If you are transferred to the answering machine, please leave a message and we will call you back
       as soon as possible
   c. You will be asked for the following information over the phone to confirm the booking
         1 - Your first & last name
         2 - Your mobile phone number
         3 - Your credit card details
         4 - If you wish to have a confirmation e-mail sent also, please provide an e-mail address.

8. I have a gift certificate how do I book into a class?

Phone Booking

   a. Call Sydney Trapeze School on 9557 9668
   b. If you are transferred to the answering machine, please leave a message and we will call you back
       as soon as possible
   c. You will be asked for the following information over the phone to confirm the booking
         1 - Your first & last name
         2 - Your mobile phone number

9. Can my friends & family stay and watch?

Yes.

Friends and family are more than welcome to come and watch you on the trapeze, we have a lounge area and bench seating available.

10. Can I take photos and video?

Yes.

Students or friends are able to take photos and or videos.

Sydney Trapeze School (indoors) takes photos of most of our "All Levels" classes. These photos are available for purchase on CD-Rom after the class for $35.00

11. My gift certificate has expired, can it be extended?

Yes & No.

Gift certificates that are approaching expiry or have expired recently (within 3 months of expiry date) can be extended on a per month basis for an administration fee of $10.00 per month to a maximum of 3 months from the expiry date.

EG 1. My gift certificate just expired a few days ago, can I extend it for another 2 months so I can still do a class. Yes, Call the school on (02) 9557 9668 or visit and request a 2 month extension $20.00

EG 2. My gift certificate expired 3 or more months ago, can I extend it for another month so I can still do a class. No, gift certificates are valid for 12 months, if you contacted us prior to the expiry date or within 3 months of the expiry date we could have offered an extension.

12. My friend has a gift certificate and doesn't want to do Flying Trapeze, can I use it?

Yes.

The name on the gift certificate can be changed from one person to another for an administration fee of $10.00 made over the phone or here at the school.

13. What forms of payment does Sydney Trapeze School accept?

Sydney Trapeze School accepts any of the following forms of payment:

   1 - Cash
   2 - Credit Card - Visa, Visa Debit, MasterCard (we do not accept AMEX or Diners cards)

15. What happens if it rains?

Outdoor classes that are cancelled by Sydney Trapeze School within the first 30 minutes from the start of the class due to wet/hot weather. Students will be credited One full class that must be completed within 3 months from the date of the class that was cancelled. If the class is cancelled after 30 minutes from the scheduled class time, no class will be credited.

This excludes '3rd Party' vouchers they must reschedule before the expiry date of the voucher. If the class is cancelled after 30 minutes from the scheduled class time, no class will be credited.

16. Do I need to purchase a ticket to the event?

18. Can I drive to the venue and park or should I catch public transport?

We strongly recommend that you catch public transport to the venue. Either a bus or train to Town Hall Station with a short 10-15 minute walk down to Tumbalong Park.

OR

A train to Central Station and a tram to Exhibition Centre followed by a short walk to Tumbalong Park.

You can drive. Paid parking is available within Wilson Parking centres at Darling Quarter 1-11 Harbour St or Entertainment Darling Drive Haymarket.

There is no food or beverages available at the event site, however, there is countless restaurants and cafes surrounding the park.
